Finland is a country on the north of Europe. The capital of Finland is Helsinky. Here you can see a map wich tells were Finland is. It is represent in yellow.

The official languages are Finnish and swedish. And it takes 338.145 km of the total area of europe.

Finland has a lot of lakes and islands, 187,888 lakes (larger than 500 m²) and 179,584 islands. One of these lakes, Saimaa, is the fourth largest in EuropeThe Finnish landscape is mostly flat with few hills, and its highest point, the Halti at 1,324 metres, is found in the extreme north of Lapland at the border between Finland and Norway

The european union has three differents institutions. First, and the most important is the european parliament, It has got three fundamental proposals. The first one is to examinate and adopt european legislation. The second one consist to pass the budget of the EU and make democratic control of institutions.

This ‘institutional triangle’ produces the policies and laws that apply throughout the EU.

The powers and responsibilities of these institutions are laid down in the Treaties, which are the foundation of everything the EU does. They also lay down the rules and procedures that the EU institutions must follow. The Treaties are agreed by the presidents and/or prime ministers of all the EU countries, and ratified by their parliaments.
